Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup milk
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/4 cup diced onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
2 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
1/4 cup milk or cream (for mashed potatoes)
2 tablespoons butter (for mashed potatoes)
Optional Ingredients: Diced bell peppers, herbs (thyme, parsley), gravy.
Preparation Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
Shape the mixture into a loaf and place in a baking dish.
Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until cooked through.
While meatloaf is baking, boil potatoes until tender.
Mash potatoes with milk/cream, butter, salt, and pepper.
Serve meatloaf with mashed potatoes.
